Wingpath to cease trading on 25 October 2025

From 25 October 2025 we will no longer be selling licences for our software products (ModSnmp, ModMultiSim, Modsak, ModSlaveSim, ModMaster and ModTest).

The website will remain operational until at least 2027 for reference purposes, and for the registration and transfer of product licences.

ModMultiSim help v3.07 - 2.7. Open Settings...

Download manual: HTML

2.7. Open Settings...

To open a settings file use the FileOpen Settings... menu item , or type Ctrl-O. This will bring up a dialog that allows you to enter or select the name of the settings file that you want to open.

The file must be one that has been saved by ModMultiSim in the correct format. If it is not in the correct format, an error is displayed in the status bar.

Loading registers (or environment properties) merges registers from the file with any registers already created. So registers with new addresses are added, existing registers that share an address are replaced, and any registers not in the new file remain along with all others. If you want to totally replace the set of register definitions select the Delete All Registers panel in SettingsEdit Settings... before you open the new configuration file. (For environment properties, select the Delete All Properties panel in SettingsEdit Settings...).

This menu option is disabled when ModMultiSim is either serving a master or running the slave simulation (i.e. when Serve Masters or Run Slave Simulation are highlighted).

Note that when you first open this dialog it displays files in your current working directory by default, but you can change this behaviour (see Running ModMultiSim with file options ).
